On August 7, 2018 14 students from the City of Tampa Parks and Recreation Department successfully graduated from the Summer program. On Tuesday July 24, 2018 the students entered week 3 of their Summer program. This week was about how a bill gets passed to law in the State. The class was divided into three groups: Media, Legislators and Lobbyists. After much conversation the bill was not passed into law.

The Rites of Passage Program traveled to Jacksonville, FL. to attend the 2018 National Conference on preventing crime in the black community. The young ladies were able to participate in workshops and forums that involved alternatives to violence among young people and other informative activities.
