Our first session with the young ladies was filled with excitement and meaningful activities. To kick things off, we engaged in a series of fun icebreakers that not only broke the ice but also helped foster a sense of openness among the group. It was a great way for everyone to connect and feel comfortable with one another.

As part of their Rites of Passage journey, the girls took an important step by practicing their Rites of Passage Pledge. They also began to create their own affirmation boards. This empowering exercise encouraged self-reflection and set the stage for personal growth and positive development.

We were also fortunate to have Darrell Daniels, the Director of Derrick Brooks Charities Youth Programs, join us as a special guest. Mr. Daniels delivered a powerful talk on the effects of bullying and shared valuable tools on how to cope with, combat, and ultimately overcome it. His insightful presentation sparked an open and thoughtful conversation, and the young ladies’ thoughtful participation truly impressed him. As a token of appreciation for their engagement, he generously gifted each girl an Amazon gift card.

Looking ahead, we’re excited to continue this transformative journey with upcoming community service activities and the Tampa Christmas Parade. These events will give the girls a meaningful way to give back to their community and create lasting memories as part of their Rites of Passage experience.
