More than 400 students and families came together for the Annual Back 2 School Event at the Jackson Heights NFL YET Center!
Thanks to the incredible support of the DBCYP Advisory Committee, Bealls, City of Tampa Parks and Recreation, East Tampa Business and Community Development Alliance, Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, Tampa Police Department, GTE Financial, and many other community partners, local students are headed into the new school year with the supplies they need to succeed.
We were honored to hear from Tampa City Councilwoman Naya Young, Plant City Police Chief Rich Mills, Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Major Craig Roberts, Tampa Police Captain Regina Zeigler, and Diedrea Anthony, Chair of the DBCYP Advisory Committee, who shared words of encouragement with students and families.
In addition to backpacks and school supplies for students, plus supplies for teachers, everyone enjoyed a delicious hot meal prepared by the talented culinary team led by Diedrea Anthony.
