WellCare, Derrick Brooks Charities and Tampa Parks & Recreation Department Host Training Program for Teens
Nineteen Tampa Bay area teens will go back to school with professional development training, thanks to WellCare Health Plans in collaboration with Derrick Brooks Charities and the City of Tampa’s Parks & Recreation Department. The organizations hosted a five-week professional development training program to better prepare area teens for successful careers in school and in the workplace.
Students took two-hour courses taught by WellCare employees on resume development, interviewing skills, business communications, work-life balance, political action and budgeting and saving.
On Monday, July 24, participants toured WellCare’s headquarters in Tampa and received certificates of completion during a luncheon and awards ceremony. The students also received backpacks filled with essentials and school supplies. The program was open to teens who live in and around the Sulphur Springs neighborhood in Tampa and who participate in programming hosted by Derrick Brooks Charities and the Parks & Recreation Department.
