On Wednesday November 7, 2018 Derrick Brooks Charities in partnership with Fifth Third Bank, the City of Tampa Department of Parks and Recreation and the City of Tampa presented its 3rd annual family wellness event “Community Caring and Connections” at Copeland Park from 4:30PM to 7:00PM. We were able to reach over 500 people including adults and children. The purpose of this event is to expose under-served families to services and programs available to them in every aspect of life: health, education, financial literacy, faith-based programs and many more. They were treated to a home cooked meal as well as other goodies. We would like to extend a very warm thank you to all of the vendors that participated in this event as well as those that donated items for the gift bags. We are looking forward to 2019 and will announce the date soon.
