On June 1, 2017, Attorney General Pam Bondi hosted the 32nd National Conference on preventing crime in the black community. The young ladies of Derrick Brooks Charities ROPP attended the event. The girls were able to participate in the Speak Up Speak Out workshop that involved a lecture and activities about healthy relationships, building trust, communication and forgiveness. They also had an opportunity to take part in the Impact of Crime session, the good, the bad and the ugly. During this time, the girls learned valuable lessons that involved how to respond and react to police officers in difficult situations. This was a valuable learning experience and the girls are very appreciative for it.
