Derrick Brooks Charities Youth Programs Advisory Committee, Bealls Stores, City of Tampa Parks and Recreation Department, East Tampa Business and Civic Association, Tampa Police Department, Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, Tampa Airport Police Department, and other local organizations held the 18th Annual Back 2 School Bash on Saturday, August 3rd at the Jackson Heights NFL YET Center.
Law enforcement executives and Darlene Johnson, Assistant to City Councilwoman Gwen Henderson, were in attendance to assist with the event. Approximately 500 people attended this event, including members of the Divine Nine Black Pan-Hellenic Council, who assisted in preparing the school supplies. Vendors providing youth services, safety, social services, and health care were present. The attendees were treated to youth performances from area parks and recreation centers and food courtesy of the charity.
