On February 10th, Mrs. Nikki Inda, the program Coordinator for Moffitt Healthy Kidz Program, hosted a CPR/First Aid class in support of Derrick Brooks Charities Rites of Passage Female Mentoring Program. In addition to hosting, Mrs. Inda spoke to the young ladies about building positive relationships in the community, the power of success and the importance of working hard and helping others.

The impressive and energetic Angela Vickers from the American Heart Association taught the girls steps to administer infant, child and adult CPR. They also learned about healthy eating, precautions to avoid germs and the difference between and signs of cardiac arrest, a heart attack and stroke. Ms. Vickers wrapped up the class with a demonstration of the Heimlich Maneuver for adults and how to care for an infant when choking. We are very proud to say, that the young ladies of the ROPP are CPR/FIRST AID certified! A big thanks to Ms. Karley Wright, for assisting Ms. Vickers during class.
