The Derrick Brooks Charities Youth Programs Advisory Committee had its first in-person meeting since the pandemic began in March of 2020. This 40-plus-member committee is made up of elected officials, law enforcement and other governmental personnel, court counselors, youth service organizations, business owners, faith-based organizations, and residents of Tampa and Hillsborough County.

2022-23 Goal: Connect resources to help youth become educated, productive, and self-sufficient. Advisory Committee and Law Enforcement Officers will sponsor events where there will be dialogue and/or exchange of information related to crime prevention, community empowerment, youth activities and/or education.

To that end, the committee has sponsored back-to-school events, Community & Police (CPR) Relationship building workshops, holiday drives and other activities to empower youth and families and change lives.
