Derrick Brooks Charities Youth Programs and FAMU student Soladeen Hamilton pose with Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings, DBCYP Executive Director Darrell Daniels and Clay County Sheriff Darryl Daniels (spelled differently) at the Police Community Relations workshop where they were panelists at the Black Caucus Conference in Tallahassee. Darrell Daniels moderated the workshop. Sheriff Demings and Sheriff Daniels offered Soladeen to a job when he graduates. Soladeen told the audience when he met the Derrick Brooks Charities staff in the ninth grade he had a 0.5 GPA and Daniels and DBCYP mentored him to become a 3.8 GPA honor graduate and he received a scholarship to FAMU. He is a junior currently on the student Senate.
