Today started very early leaving Atlanta, GA. for Tallahassee and Florida State University. After breakfast it was on the road for a 4 ½ hour drive to our State Capitol. After lunch in Tallahassee we reached our destination for our first tour at Florida State University. We walked almost 3 miles touring the campus and all of the beauty and opportunities offered there. We learned the rich history of FSU. After the initial tour it was on to the School of Business. We were greeted by a host of professionals there including the Dean of Business. Our particular stop was at the mock trading room that has been built for the students. We had the opportunity to glean a wealth of knowledge from Mike Hartline, Dean of the College of Business, John Rivers, entrepreneur and founder of 4 Rivers BBQ, Bill Christianson, Finance Department Chair and Lynne McChristian, Teaching faculty and Risk Management. Immediately following the College of Business, it was off to the Athletic Department for a most impressive tour of their newly renovated facilities. What they have done with this renovation was absolutely spectacular. We got to see the new indoor practice field, walk on Bobby Bowden field at Doak Campbell stadium, tour the locker rooms, training rooms and visit the student athlete lounge for the FSU football team. A long day concluded with a check in at our dorms in Ragans 4 and then onto Chili’s on campus for dinner.
